Boomerang - Sedona, AZ Pet Photographer

I’m not gonna lie, when I was contacted about photographing a Portuguese Water Dog, I was scratching my head. I’ve heard of the breed but, for the life of me, I couldn’t picture what one looked like. After doing a quick Google search, I knew this session was going to be an original!

Boomerang was just celebrating his second birthday, he’s super intelligent, and participates in agility, rally, obedience, scent work, fast cat, fetch, swimming and is a certified therapy dog. So impressive! His parents routinely travel the country for Boomerang’s shows and they happened to be heading to Arizona. They were dying to do a photo shoot for him so they contacted me immediately. Turns out they were on their way to Sedona and the vision of Boomerang with the red rocks and gorgeous rivers came to light.

He was thrilled to run around showing off his jumps, smile, and fancy haircut. And what’s the fun of being a water dog if you can’t get in the water??? It may not have been deep enough for a proper swim and it was a little slippery, but Boomerang didn’t hesitate to get soaked. What a dang good time!!!
