Roo - Studio Session
Roo is an Italian Greyhound with impossibly long, skinny legs and a presence that fills the room. The second she realized the studio setup involved treats, she was all in. Sit, stand, stretch, tilt her head, strike a pose—Roo would do just about anything for a reward, and she did it all with flair.
We kept the setup simple to let Roo shine. A solid gray backdrop gave us a clean, timeless look, while a solid blue backdrop added a pop of color that complemented her parent’s decor (for artwork later on). Every inch of Roo’s personality came forward—especially when she started sticking her tongue out between poses.
Roo was constantly in motion, bouncing between moments of statuesque elegance and total goofball. One second she looked like a fashion model, standing tall with her chest out and legs perfectly placed. The next, she was leaning toward the camera, tongue flopping out, eyes locked on the treat in my hand. Those in-between moments—when she forgot she was “working”—ended up being some of the best shots of the session.
What made the shoot especially fun was how engaged Roo was the entire time. She watched every move, tracked every sound, and clearly understood the assignment: pose now, treat later. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and it turned the mobile studio into a space full of happy chaos.
Roo may be all legs, but it’s her spirit that truly stole the show.
