Piper + Jasmine - Scottsdale, AZ Dog Photographer
Some sessions just don’t go according to plan—and those often turn out to be the most memorable.
Piper and Jasmine’s photoshoot started with gray skies and a steady drizzle. We met in the morning with hopes of soft light and lush greenery, but the original location just wasn’t delivering. The grass was sparse, and if there’s one thing to know about Piper, it’s that grass is non-negotiable. She loves it.
So, we pivoted.
Just three minutes around the corner, we found it—a perfect field of vibrant green, like it had been waiting just for them. Almost as if on cue, the rain tapered off during our quick drive over, giving us a fresh start and a much better backdrop. Sometimes a little flexibility is all it takes to turn things around.
Once we arrived, it was pure joy. Piper immediately made herself at home, rolling, exploring, and soaking up every inch of the grass she’d been missing. Meanwhile, Jasmine brought an entirely different kind of energy—laser-focused and completely obsessed with her ball. The contrast between them was so fun to capture: Piper, carefree and content, and Jasmine, fast and full of drive.
Together, they’re a dynamic duo that clearly keeps their mom busy—but in the best possible way. There’s so much personality between them, and it shines in every interaction.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Piper before, but with Jasmine now part of the family, it was the perfect time to update the artwork on the walls. Watching their bond and capturing this new chapter was such a joy.
What started as a rainy, uncertain morning turned into a playful, laughter-filled session—proof that sometimes the best moments come after a little change in plans.
